This morning I upgraded a fully functional Domino 12.0.2fp3 to Domino 14 and got Java issues. When starting the server I get the following error:
'JVMJ9VM149E java.ext.dirs=/opt/hcl/domino/notes/14000000/linux/ndext:/opt/hcl/domino/notes/14000000/linux/jvm/lib/ext: is no longer supported. Please add the required libraries/jar files to the classpath.'
Consecuently (I guess) this affects Traveler server that shows following error in log: 'Traveler: Cannot create Java VM, result=-4'
I don't have a directory called /opt/hcl/domino/notes/14000000/linux/jvm/lib/ext and no extra java files, only what comes with Domino/Traveler.
Besides this Domino seems to work as expected as I can connect with my Notes client. But I would really like to get Traveler running again.
I have never seen this before and have searched the internet but haven't been able to find a solution.
Does anyone of you smart people know what to do?
Domino is running on Linux CentOS Stream 9 and have been running without issues for a long time before today's upgrade.
In addition to my above point, you can find the related document as below.
If you upgrade the Domino® server major version you must re-run the HCL Traveler install to ensure proper binary files are installed. For example, if running HCL Traveler 11.0.0 on Domino® 10.0.1 and you upgrade to Domino® 11.0.0, re-run the HCL Traveler 11.0.0 installer.
Thank you so much. This solved the issue. I thought the issue I got with reinstalling was linked to the JVM error but after following the instructions in your link and doing some db management I got the reinstall working and that solved my problem.
Thank you again. You saved my day (and probably weekend)
I tried to reinstall but that didn't work either. But now when I know I need to do that I will look into that a bit more. I thought the error was because of the upgrade.
When I start the Traveler installation it thinks for a while and then exits with a text describing the four different ways of installing, but without doing anything. I have a hard time describing it because the message is in Swedish ;)
