We got R5.0.11 on AIX. we are planning to upgrade it to ND6. I wolud like to know the different problems that are faced by you all in your upgradation.
I am giving brief description about our Environment.
We got R5.0.11, Domnio.doc 3.1 on AIX . This is the application server for us. on this around 500 Workflow application are running. No users are 2500+.
We got 2 mail servers running on Windows 2000 advanced server in cluster. These 2 are rigistered on Application Server.
Users are using R5 clients.
If you can send me the problems the you faced while your upgradation. we will test them on our test environment before migrating our production servers to ND6.

In a general sense the biggest problem people face is there is not enough testing done for each company’s particular applications. Generally speaking a Lotus Notes R5 database will work in the same manner on R6. Of course if the application uses bad practices in development, then more time would need to be spent for testing in the new environment.
The 2 biggest changes I saw with R6 is the internet site document and a spam filtering/Rules for SMTP. Mail as it was configured in R5 will work, butI would suggest to look at how R6 using the internet site document for SMTP. It has made things simplier. The filtering/Rules for SMTP can help reduce unwanted mail if there are domains your company does not like to receive mail from. (For example SBASE23.COM is known to send a lot of SPAM. I block this domain.)
