hi mike, i searched the forum , but i did not get the correct answer. my question was how is it possible for two replica databases in two different servers to maintain a unique serial number.
How can the profile doc values in the replica database of different server’s be updated. so that the doc 's in different replica can genrate a serial number.

The simple answer is that it’s NOT possible for two isolated servers to create unique sequential numbers. That’s for any platform, not just Notes.
Take another look at the multiple postings on Sequencial Numbers, and review the alternatives suggested.

You can setup “trust” between 2 servers so the agent will be able to access another server. Then you can get the count-holding document on that remote server and get/update the counter.I haven’t try this particular solution myself, but I don’t see why it wouldn’t work.

Thanks for ur reply.
But still i have a doubt ,
ok i will setup the trust between the servers for the agent to access another server.
Will the above process increase the load on the server When i create the documents.
