We are having some performance problems lately in using Notes. We have been deleting for example cache.ndk from user’s workstation. After a couple of days of removing the cache the same performance problems (Notes is very slow) arised. We noticed from a couple of users local log-file that there are error mentioned in this subject. Are you familiar with this? I know that you can define the maximum size of your cache file from Workspace properties and by default it is 30 MB. I looked at my cache and it was over 31 MB and I have not got any records to my log-file. Do some of you regularily delete this cache file from workstations? Normally you should delete this maybe once a year when you Notes starts behaving “badly”. I do not understand why this cache.ndk file keeps growing so fast?

That is very interesting. My cache never gets that big. I am on 6.5.5 for client version. We very rarely have to delete the cache. Only if there is a problem that deleting it helps resolve. Try compacting the workspace just to see if you continue to have the cache issue. If you do, I would contact Lotus or check the knowledge base on IBM’s support site to see why this is happening.
