I have a customer with a problem that is preventing their migration to 8.5The problem is very specific, to 8.5 (and 8.5.1), the mail file and their environment.
They are using a network drive for their data area, which IBM say is not supported, even though we know there are loads of companies using it this way, and IBM have also released fixes for this, not to mention the fact that every Citrix user works this way. In addition they use the Novell TCP/IP.
The combination of all of these causes Notes to fail to open an 8.5 mail file.
If you downgrade the mail file template to 7 it works
If you use NLNotes it works
If you replace the Novell networking client with a manually mapped drive (Microsoft TCP/IP) it works
If you move the data files local it works
We wondered if we could even move a few files local to solve the issue. We even tried 8.5.1 on the day it was released, no difference. Any ideas gratefully received as I am running out of ideas.
