Dear Friends,I have a major problem while opening notes client.when i click on notes shortcut it gives error message in the first screen “unable to open name and address book(names.nsf), due to error ‘file does not exist’. locatios cannot be used until the problem has been corrected.” when i click on ok it gives next error ‘file does not exist’ and then closes notes first scrren.
But the data folder has names.nsf , i copied names.nsf file from another client data folder and pasted. but the problem still there.what could be the error and how will i sholve this prob.

Maybe the names.nsf is not pasted in the ‘notes\data’ directory.Otherwise it is possible you did change the User Preferences of the notes-client in the tab ‘Mail’ - ‘General’.
It will be suitable to overinstall the client on the platform.

I had the exact same problem and found that when I checked the notes.ini file it was pointing to the notes but not data directory where the names.nsf is located… i modified this and was back up…I have no idea how the .ini file has been modified to point somewhere else…might be woth a try
