We have a smtp server in one domain that the servers in the other domain connect to, to send and receive outbound messages. Everything has been working fine for quite some time now.
We have a new employee and the smtp server gives the following error messages when it tries to transfer messages for him to the mail server he is on.
08/18/2005 02:08:46 PM Router: No messages transferred to “server name” via Notes: The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists.
08/18/2005 02:08:48 PM Router: Unable to open mailbox file “server name” mail.box: The server is not responding. The server may be down or you may be experiencing network problems. Contact your system administrator if this problem persists.
No one else on the mail server (including myself), is plagued by this problem. We have rebooted both the mail server and the smtp server. I have recreated the connection documents on both servers and have run the “tell router update config” on both as well. I’ve even added an entry in the address book on the SMTP server for this person, pointing to the other domain. When we created the connection documents, the mail that was queued up went through, but it has since begun to back up again.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.
