Unable to ncompact since Notes 12.0.2FP5 - Restartable compact requires transaction logging on db and ODS >= 55

I've tried to revert back an NSF ODS, as I've done since Notes 8, but I was unable. I've detected this behaviour in Notes 12.0.2FP5. I'm sure it worked in Notes 12.0.2FP2

C:\Program Files (x86)\HCL\Notes\Data>"c:\Program Files (x86)\HCL\Notes\ncompact.exe" -r log.nsf
[E48C:0002-E7DC] The ID file being used is: c:\Program Files (x86)\HCL\Notes\Data\user.id
[E48C:0002-E7DC] Enter password (press the Esc key to abort):

[E48C:0004-E2C8] 25/10/2024 11:25:40 Compacting log.nsf (MIGUEL CALVO's Log), -r log.nsf
[E48C:0004-E2C8] 25/10/2024 11:25:40 Restartable compact requires transaction logging on db and ODS >= 55 - c:\Program Files (x86)\HCL\Notes\Data\log.nsf
[E48C:0004-E2C8] 25/10/2024 11:25:40 Compacted log.nsf, 0K bytes recovered (0%), -r log.nsf
[E48C:0002-E7DC] 25/10/2024 11:25:42 Database compactor process shutdown

Is this so, or maybe my procedure is not correct ?

This KB is related to Domino. The ncompact execution is happening at the Notes client installation.

Thanks.

Compact code for Domino and Notes is same. So you will see the same message in Notes and Domino when you tried to execute it as below.

Notes 1202 and Domino 1202:

Hence it is an informational message given by Compact as per the KB.

Thank you

My misundestanding. Thanks.

Hi Miguel,

This is not a defect. This is an informational message given by Compact and you can ignore it. The compact process successfully completes even after this message. So nothing to worry about it.

Thank you.
