Unable to Launch Designer after installing FP1 for 8.5.2

I have Notes, Designer, and Admin 8.5.2 installed on two PCs, one running Windows 7 and the other running Windows XP. I updated them both to FP1 and the Designer client will not Launch on the Win XP PC. It launches fine on Win7.

I uninstalled FP1 and Designer Launches just fine. I tried running a repair on 8.5.2 and reinstalling FP1 but it still will not launch the Designer. Had to uninstall FP1 again to get Designer to launch.

No matter what I try, I cannot get Designer to work on Win XP with FP1.

I had the same problem on Vista. Remembering issues with 8.5.0 I tried moving the Workspace folder out, so that that was recreated. In this case, that didn’t work. (If it works for you, you can then start copying back in the relevant folders to find out what’s corrupt and get most, if not all, of the plugins and working sets back). What I did was uninstall Notes, then reinstall 8.5.2, then FP1.

To ensure I didn’t lose working sets and plugins, first I backed up my \workspace folder. After the reinstall I pasted that folder back in.

I had a problem with plugins reinstalling every time I opened Notes. To resolve that I think I deleted the “applications” subfolder in workspace.

Subject: Had to remove and install Notes again

I had tried previously moving the workspace directory out so that it created a clean one but that didn’t help. I uninstalled Notes moved the workspace directory out and then reinstalled notes and then applied FP1. That worked and I was able to launch the designer client. Then I moved the new workspace directory out and the old one back in and the Designer still launches.
