Unable to delete message from Inbox

Hello. We have a message in a shared mailbox that we can’t delete. The message itself doesn’t display in the Inbox, however the unread message count in the left-hand pain reflects that it is there and user can’t scroll to the top of the Inbox due to this message.

I have read a number of posts on this in the forum and have tried the following:

Turn off/on soft delete

load fixup db.nsf -J

load updall db.nsf -R

load compact db.nsf -B

load compact db.nsf -c -i

The message still appears to be there. Any ideas? I have this database in a dev. environment now so I perfrom drastic measures on it if necessary.

Thanks.

Stupid question, but have you tried to Mark all messages read? We’ve seen this behavior as well when a user deletes a calendar entry that they have not yet opened (scenario: user gets invite to meeting, meeting is cancelled and the user is told as much, so he/she deletes the entry without actually reading it.)

I don’t understand what you mean by “the user can not scroll to the top of the inbox”…do you mean that they believe the message is appearing off screen and they can not scroll to it? If that’s the case, the message doesn’t exist. it’s been deleted and the inbox count is off as a result.

If we mark all messages read, then the problem goes away, until a new message appears in the folder. Then the new item count is off again.

As far as the scrolling goes, if you have a small amount of message in your Inbox, you have no veritcal scroll bar. The problem we’re seeing in this database is that if there is one message in the Inbox, a vertical scroll bar appears and the ‘box’ you can move on the scroll bar to scroll up and down won’t go all the way to the top, it stops just below it, making it appear there is one more message to scroll to.

Thanks!
