Ubuntu: No copy & paste of screenshots

Ubuntu Linux: When using the Sametime screenshot tool the function “copy” is not active. If I use KSnapshot I can copy into the clipboard but not paste into Sametime or a Notes document (error message “Unable to get data from clipboard.”)

Workaround for Notes: Save into an image file and click “File … Import”.

Me too, interestingly, if I capture with Ksnapshot, then past into an OpenOffice presentation, then re:copy from the presentation, I can paste into Notes!

Explain that!

Apparently Notes does not like Device Independent Bitmap format which is pretty standard for images on clipboard. If you copy from OO Writer, the image is copied as both Bitmap AND Device Independent Bitmap. Could we have support for DIB, too? Thanks Josef

The copy button is disabled on RHEL 5 too. This is quite annoying, because it is a very good feature in sametime.

On Ubuntu 8.10 the gnome hardcopy has a “copy to clipboard” button. It works pretty well to include a screenshot in a notes mail.
