Since upgrading to 8.5, I’ve noticed an odd behavior with the type-ahead in the address field. Previously, if I wanted to send an email to another person in the company, I would type “Jane D” and press enter and it would give me the person’s Notes address like “Jane Doe/AnyCo”. With 8.5 however, it gives me the person’s internet address like “jane.doe@anycompany.com”.
Its not a huge deal as the message would get to the right person but I assume the message will be handled differently by the server.
Thanks
Ed
Subject: Problem is local address book
Thanks for the suggestion Ted but that wasn’t the problem. Problem appears to be that if a matching contact is in both the server directory and in the local address book, it will always take the address from the local address book.
I have it set to exhaustively check all address books and I even tried changing the mail addressing from “Local then Server” to “Server then Local”. It still gets the address from the local address book. This is a new issue in 8.5. Didn’t happen in 8.0.3 or earlier.
Until there is a fix, I’ve removed my local address book in Preferences/Mail/Sending and Receiving.

Ed
Subject: Check this…
Check the person’s entry in the Domino Directory and see if the Domain field is filled in. This is known to cause the behavior you’re seeing. If that’s the problem, edit the domain field with the proper value, update the view and this should take care of it.
