Hi all,in case of topic below i need in common help:

i have a server, which running on SuSe Enterprice 10, i’m root on this server, today i’ve tryed to install Lotus Domino ver 7.0.1 on this server. I’ve successfully copied and unpacked all files. User notes and group notes were successfully created too. Then i’ve started install process under user “notes” throught terminal with “su” parametr… and installed it to /opt/ibm/lotus, data folder was setted to /opt/ibm/lotus/data…

The server was installed in Remote setup mode,

then i’ve runned Remote server setup form another PC, which running unde r Windows XP SP2 and client Lotus Notes 7.0.1, succesffully settuped server, it created Admin account and another service ID’s and then shutted down listening mode,

then my action was:

in terminal

cd /opt/ibm/lotus/bin

./server

the bash answer : notes.ini was not found,

ok, i founded notes.ini file /opt/ibm/lotus/data and copied it to /opt/ibm/lotus/bin, then i’ve tryed to launch server again and then reply was: could not backup notes.ini

Ok, i’ve checked all restrictions and premissions for this file and chaned owner on notes user, and allow to change it for all users from notes group…

nothing…

so, can you suggest some thing?

Subject: Troubles with server install

Hi,

You have to start the server from the data directory. eg.

cd /opt/ibm/lotus/data && /opt/ibm/lotus/bin/server

This should work.
