Troubles with access to NSF files

Hi all,i have a troubles again, with the same server,

in past i’ve used Domino only installed on Windows Platform, so it some difficult for me - use it on SuSe.

I’ve successfully installed and configured server, and after all i’ve putted ID manager in new folder which is subfolder of data…

I’ve trying to open one on nsf bases of ID manager on my client, its openings, i’m opening ACL of this mail base, edit it but client cant save changes: the file is read only, i’ve cheked file premisions and set it on full access for “notes” user and group in system… it doesnt helped, i still have this error.

Maybe some body have any idea about this?

Are you sure the permissions are rightly set? you say “full access”… what does that mean? You might also need to know that in Linux permissions are “inherited” from the directory, so access permission (the x bit) has to be set in the directories leading to the file.

namei -m /path/to/file will show you permissions on the file and the path leading to it.

Subject: RE: Troubles with access to NSF files

Hallo Vinko, under full access i mean that i changed owner for this files on user “notes” in SuSe - user for domino, under this user i’m starting server.

i’ve gived this user rights to read, write and execute on all nsf group of this software, but as i can see i can’t edit ACL for this nsf files also…

i’ve connected under user notes via putty to this host and executed your command, here is result.

namei -m /opt/ibm/lotus/data/IDManager/requests.nsf

f: /opt/ibm/lotus/data/IDManager/requests.nsf

drwxr-xr-x /

drwxr-xr-x opt

drwxr-xr-x ibm

drwxr-xr-x lotus

drwxr-xr-x data

drwxrwxrwx IDManager

-rwxrwxrwx requests.nsf

maybe it can helps some how?
