Problem/Query:
5 devices show this warning in Domino console after upgrading Traveler from 9.0.1.21 to 14.0FP2:
Traveler: SEVERE Firstname Lastname [Android_54e50885de77492d] Exception encountered trying to use database mail.box on DominoMail/Company to send SMS message for 18 bytes [0,1,0,1,0,3,0,2,0,30,5,0,5,2,1,11,32,1] Change Flags (Status
: None, HB: 30, Change Flags: mail:add/update/read, serviceability:configGet). It will be retried in 5 minutes Exception Thrown: Notes Exception(4817) : Memory allocation failure
Does anybody know what could be the cause? Device reset does not solve.
Thank you
PS: these 5 devices work without issues.
Hello,
Is this observed after an upgrade particularly?
If so, I would suggest to please refer this article for more details
How to resolve synchronization issues that start after upgrading to Traveler 9.0.1.18 (or higher)
In one of the cases, these warnings disappeared after a restart of server.
Hope this helps.
Thanks and Regards

Hello,
It is trying to send the SMS update for the mails.
So it looks like somehow this SMS function might have turned on in Traveler.
So can you please open the LotusTraveler.nsf database from Admin client or from Web browser and check the option Device Security > Update SMS address ? If the SMS option is somehow turned on then please turn it off.
Further you can just recreate the maii.box on server as it is not able to access the mail.box. So to do this, just shut down the server and then rename the mail.box from data directory to mail_old.box and then stat the server. It will create a new mail.box.
Now check if the issue is resolved.
Thank you.

Hello,
none of these solved. Issue solved by itself replacing SSL keyring file with new CertMgr: I really don’t know why
