I’ve searched a lot and so far not found any indication of others experiencing this problem, however it is completely reproducable and has persisted over 2 version of Windows Mobile (6.1 and 6.5) and Traveler (8.5.0.1 and 8.5.0.2) and 3 ROM versions on the phone.
What appears to happen is that the first time Traveler runs and updates the phone after midnight it causes the Windows Mobile clock to change briefly to the GMT time. Since I’m in Australia this means that the device briefly (for several seconds) jumps forward 10 hours (the date appears to not change) before reverting to the correct local time.
The result of this is that most appointments for the upcoming day immediately alert because the phone thinks they are in the past during the clock change, making alarms completely useless unless the phone is then reset.
This only occurs the first time Traveler syncs data on a given day. If you reset it after this occurs it will function normally from then on and alert calendar items correctly.
The phone is question is an HTC Touch Pro2. I’ve confirmed that this isn’t an artifact of the TouchFlo overlay (as I’d originally thought), as the same behaviour is observed with TouchFlo not loaded and the standard Windows Mobile interface used.
I previously ran Traveler 8.5.0.1 on an HTC TyTN II with winmo 6.1 and did not get this behaviour, which would tend to point to something phone specific, but I can’t see what that could be.
Has anyone observed this same behaviour or better yet have any pointers on how to stop it?
