I still have the following problem with a nokia N97 and Lotus Traveler 8.5.2.1.
If I select some favorites contacts which are displayed in the front panel of my N97, they are erased when traveler do the synchronisation.
The contact is not deleted, it is just the “flag” that this contact is set as favorite on my mobile that is erased.
I already saw someone reporting this in this forum (or the old traveler forum) with a previous release but it’s still there with 8.5.2.1 (both Domino server and Traveler).
Sounds similar to the problem that we had with Traveler and speed dial. The Domino server does not have a field for “favorite”, so this must not be getting synced up. However, seems like we could make a code change and keep track of this favorite settings assuming that it is stored in the contacts database on the N97. (This is similar to how we fixed speed dial). I opened an internal bug for this (Traveler 163847) for us to investigate more.
If you re-mark it as favorite after Traveler has synced, does it keep the setting? It might unless the contact is modified again on the server, at which time those updates probably overwrite the favorite flag again.
next synchronization with traveler: the flag is still there
I replicate my mailbox from the server to my laptop. I see one document received in my mailbox and one contact received in the symchronize contacts.
Until there my favorite is still visible on the N97.
I replicate back my mailbox to the server
I synchronize my N97 using traveler and the favorite is now gone.
If I don’t allow the synchronize contacts on the notes replicator of my laptop, the favorite remains on my N97, so I suppose there is something wrong in the synchronize contacts in the replicator.
Certainly sounds like the contact gets modified on the server because of local replication. I am not sure why in this case. But when that happens, it causes the device version to get replaced with the server version. If we had the knowledge of the flag stored in the server copy we could keep that flag in sync. I’ll add these details to the bug number.
I compared all the fields (include the ones with a name starting with $) in the contact document before and after the flag disapear and there is no difference in any fields except the modifier and modification date.
I also noticed that after step 2, the contact document in the mail box (accessed from view (InotesContact) ) is not modified and the last modifier was my user. The modification date is a few minutes before the last sync.
But after step 4, the last modification date is when I made the replication and the last modifier is now my server.
I you need more informations or if I can help for debugging, I will be happy to do it.
Hi I have reported this, or similar problem earlier. When i assign contacts to speed dial number on my Nokia E72, they are erased form the speed dial assignment after next sync. Traveler says it’s Nokia and Nokia says it Traveler…
