Subject: RE: Traveler 8.5 Wifi
Both the Traveler clients and server treat WiFi just like another network connection - there is nothing special about it. We ask the OS for a connection, and it returns one for Traveler to use. Traveler does not do any specific WiFi handling.
I assume you are saying the WiFi is not working on the client since it doesn’t make much sense on the server side. In that case, you can try the connection to the server using Pocket IE (if WM) or the Nokia web browser (if Nokia) as well. Make sure you can get to the server home page as well as /servlet/traveler. If neither of those work, then you have some basic connectivity issue on the device.

In Domino 8.0.*, I don’t need to do anything and the wifi client (window mobile) can connect. After I did a fresh installation of Traveler 8.5, the wifi just doesn’t work.
On cable and ActiveSync, it works though.
Subject: Which client are you using?
Do you use a Windows mobile or a Nokia device? On the Nokia you have to configure the Accesspoint first and then select the WiFi Accesspoint in the traveler configuration.

You will need to recreate, upload a problem report, and open a PMR so that the problem report logs can be looked at. The network handling code isn’t changed between 8.0 and 8.5, so this is something really strange. If you have another device, you should try it on the other device too because it might be something in the WiFi setup that has changed? It’s hard to say anything without logs.
