Traveler 8.5.1 and Linux

I was very pleased to hear about the announcement that Traveler 8.5.1 would support native apps on the iPhone for mail, contacts and calendar.

I didn’t hear anything about availability on Linux, and it seems only to be available on Windows. Did I miss part of the announcement? Any word on when we might see it for Linux?

I’m somewhat disappointed that – partly on IBM’s urging – I converted my server from Windows to Linux, but Windows still seems to be favoured for ‘new’ products.

It is a bit odd that in order for me to update my Apple iPhone with my IBM Lotus Notes, I still need to have a Microsoft Windows server to accomplish it.

Sorry for any inconvenience. Lotus Notes Traveler is targeting Linux on Intel hardware for its next release.
