Traveler 8.5.0.1 Field Mapping

Hi there,

is it possible to change/ customize the field mapping of contact phonenumbers?

We have the problem, that not all phonenumbers are synchronized from user’s addressbook to the PDA and vice versa.

Any ideas ?

Best regards and thanks a lot

Andreas

Which devices are you using - and are you seeing same issue on all devices?

Contact fields supported will very by device type as the contact store is a device function and not a Traveler function. If we know specifically which fields are not mapped correctly for which devices will be better able to answer the question.

Thanks,

Hi Corey,

thanks for your answer!

We found Nokia E71 (s60) and Samsung Omnia 900i (WM6.1) not syncing all phonenumbers. For example entrys in the phonefields 8-10 (Mobil2 ,Office2, private 2)won’t be transfered to the mobile device.

In EasySyncPro we were able to define some field mappings matching the device properties so our users got all the data they wanted…

Subject: Traveler field mappings

We have looked at this in detail and there have been some changes made already in maintenance, but it does not cover all the fields you mention. We have opened an APAR to add the additional fields and hopefully any others we can find to better improve this. Will let you know when this APAR is available.

Note: To get the latest current maintenance for Lotus Notes Traveler go to Fix Central - there should be 3 APARs listed, one for Server one for Nokia and one for Windows Mobile.

Hi Corey,

thanks a lot! I’ll be waitin’ for you …

An other question:

Is it possible to customize the time intervall for auto-syncing ?

Subject: Traveler scheduled sync

Hello - Sorry currently there is not a way to set an interval for Auto Sync. This is an often request function, we call it Scheduled Sync, and we are investigating for our next release. We do not yet have a target when it will be available.

Thanks.

Hi Corey,

ok, so I’ll have to wait for the next (major) release of Traveler.

Subject: Traveler field mappings

Hello everybody,

i got the same issue still on travaler 8.5.1. I found out that there is a way to customize the field mappings, but still have to do a lot of trail and error. Did somebody already map the fields correctly and wants to share his knowledge?

Thanks

Torben

Subject: Traveler Update available for Contact Fields synced.

Hello - We have just posted to fix Central APAR LO41750 to improve the sync of contacts to and from the device. All APARs are cummulative, so just locate and install the latest fix for the Server component of Lotus Notes Traveler 8.5.0.x.

Thanks - hope this resolves your issues.

Hi Corey,

thanks, but the APAR LO41855 (including LO41750) doesn’t work properly. After installing and restarting Traveler I got the following error-message an the Domino console:

I replaced the R6PersonMap.nsf with a backup and everything is working again as before.

Calling ‘tell traveler version’ at the Domino Console delivers ’ Build 200906251039. Is that correct ?

Best regards
