Tough one: Citrix woes

Hi

I have a problem that has everybody stumped (IBM, our Citric guru various colleagues and myself :o) regarding Citrix. Here is my setup:

Citrix 4.5 Hotfix 3

Notes Client 8.0.2 DE

Data directory on the Home drive (I know its not supported but it works :o)

We have 2 IBM 3650’s each with 2 CPUs (8 cores) and 16 GB memory. We have 2 Citrix servers on each 3650, each with about 15 users (i.e. practically no load).

The problem is the following:

A user logs on and tries to start Notes. Notes asks for the password and then starts displaying the tabs, at which time it just stops reacting. All the other applications work perfectly. Once we have this situation no matter how we prod Notes (restart, delete cache.dsk etc) we cannot get Notes to startup working again. Even if the user logs onto a different Citrix machine (we have 4, 2 per 3650) s/he cannot get Notes working. We then rename the data directory (something like Notes.02032009) and copy a clean Notes data directory to the home drive. We then configure Notes and the user can use it again for a while - some users repeat this process every 3 - 5 days, one user in particular needs the notes data directory wiped daily. 90% of our users do not have this problem at all. The funny thing is: once I have done the configuration i.e. renamed the data directory and reconfigured I can then use the old data directory without any problems - this indicates to me that the problem is not with the data directory!

Any ideas?

Thank you in advance
