Today's virus causing problems with Norton?

I have been bombarded today with mail containing the latest virus. For your info, you’ll get many mails, all about 77K, with a .pif attachment, usually with subject like “Re: My Details”, or “Re: That Movie”, or “Thanks!” or “Re: your Application”.

After the first few, I updated my Norton virus list, and it has started to detect them and delete the attachment - so far so good … but …

The replicator stays in a loop until you respond to the Norton notification. It shows traffic on the Replicator page with the neat new graphic, but in fact nothing is comiong down the line. You HAVE TO answer Norton! Is this the correct functionality? Seems contra-logical to me, but what do I know!

Assuming you’re running the client version of NAV, I also got fed up with having to Ok everything, but then I found you can switch to silent mode by going to the configuration setup, select Email, and under 'How to Respond when a Virus if Found", switch it to either “Repair then silently quarantine” or “Repair then silently delete” (I have the latter).

The NAV just does it in the background.
