To attach or not attach images?

Sorry I posted this in both forums. I posted in R5 forum but this is actually an R6 app. I am in the final stage of building a domino shopping cart. I am ready to populate my catalog with my store items. Is there any advantage/disadvantage to attaching the images to each document? I will have 2 images per document. A normal size with a size range between 10k-30k, and a thumb size range=2k-5k.

Initially, I will start with 1300 items so i am guestimating that at 26K per doc with the attachments the DB size will be a little over 40MB. Over time I expect to add more items as I get more suppliers. I guess I can also keep a database for each supplier.

Any thoughts?

My thoughts so far:

  1. Can update images via replication(PLUS)

  2. DB SIZE larger than necessary(MINUS)

Subject: Does not sound that bad to me. That is not really a very large Db for Domino to handle.
