This mail server requires authentication

I have problem with sending mail to particular domain, error is;This mail server requires authentication when attempting to send to a non-local e-mail address. Please check your mail client settings or contact your administrator to verify that the domain or address is defined for this server.

Servers are clustered and only one server is problematic, after I switch all communication from problematic server to another and after short period back to problematic, everything works fine for some time.

Problematic domain is not listed on blacklist, antivisrus/antispam software is not problem, nslookup to mx record is ok, outbound sender Control also checkt.

I found that same problem was posted two years ago on Lotus/Domino 6-7 forum, unfortunately there is no solution.

Ideas/solutions are highly appreciate

Subject: Server Config document

I am not 100% sure what part to look at but if this is related to mail, smtp or smpt relaying in any shape and form it will be a setting in the server config doc (possibly also a manual setting int he note.ini) that is causing this.Do these clustered servers have one common config doc or separate ones? If they are separate you need to compare them. Also, it is possible that one of the servers pulls settings from different group based server configuration documents so you really have to dig deep and see where the differences are.

Subject: server configuration

Clustered servers heave common configuration setting document, I check notes.ini files and I didn’t find anything suspicious. Fact, that nothing has been changed on server configuration for some time also bothering me.I’m evaluating possibility that this could be caused by some network issue.

Thx for suggestions
