The mails can not be delivered

The mails can not be delivered are left in the mailbox all services are fine but the mails stay there.

What can review to find the problem?

From the Domino console, if you type the command"tell router show"

the router will display a list of the emails that are currently in a state of Retry and the reason they are not being delivered.

From there, you can determine what the next step is in your troubleshooting.

For example, if you see an error message about the DNS, you may have a problem where Domino cannot resolve the hostname for where the email is being delivered.

but if the mail can not be delivered that can be done?

Yes, even though mail is failing to be delivered, the ROUTER will still respond to commands from the Domino Console.

if the mails are internal mails type this command on the server console: Restart Task Router…

if the mails are SMTP type this command…: Restart Task SMTP…

Alternatvely you can go to Domino Admin client…server Tab–status Tab–Server Tasks View and right click on Router or SMTP( as with the case) and select restart…

Type this…

Open the mail.box and check to which Internet Domains or Servers the pending mails are there then type the folowing command in the server console

Route Domainname( Ex…mails are pending for Yahoo.com, then the command is ROUTE YAHOO.com).

To monitor the complete mail routing events with the Delivery threads(from, to addresses which the router task is handling), add the following parameter.

Log_MailRouting=40.

This parameter will track the mail routing status on the server detail and you will know why the mails are not being routed.
