For example:When I open one of the forum topics, I cannot find the contributor’s name. It just isn’t there. I have to return to the list of topics to find out who the contributor is.

Why all the entries are expanded by default in this forum? If I want to see the answer tree, I can expand it by myself. And noone really needs to know that the “response number” is “WEBB7JFL74”.

Why not just make the design as in “Notes/Domino 6 and 7” forum which everyone loves?

If it was not on the IBM’s own web site I would think that it was a subtle way from a competitor to show that Notes 8 is not as good as Notes 6/7. Like “if even a simple forum looks broken, what can we expect from the software itself”?

P.S. And why did the profile link on poster’s name got removed in all forums? Is it because IBM wants to prevent people from contacting each other?

Subject: This is the worst design I’ve ever seen

I agree with the above and will add:

  1. When posting a response, there is no place showing the contents of the topic I’m responding to. Therefore it’s a hassle to toggle back and forth when you need to refresh your thoughts about the topic.

  2. Why must I do a click to return to the forum after posting. That should be automatic.

  3. Flyovers suck.

  4. Why can’t this forum display topics based on their currency. For example, if I posted a topic two weeks ago and someone answers it this morning, should that topic be near the top of the list instead of buried 5 or 6 pages back? And the problem with this is that I requested that I get an email when ever my posts are responded to, but I never get the email and therefore never remember (over time) what I’ve posted and therefore often fail to check for responses.

Subject: improve this forum

I would like to be able to see the ORIGINAL posted subject throughout the thread. People changing the subject makes it difficult to follow in a newsreader.

…and I see that I will BE FORCED to type in a subject to post my response! Why?!

Also, other forums give me an option to “subscribe” to a thread and get email notifications. That would be nice.
