Hello…i have started to compact my 1 giga database from database properties and button compact.
It is now 24 hours and i still cannot open the database…and i have error message " The database is being taken offline…"
Could it be problem or i just have to wait to finish compacting and i am not patience enough ?

There are several other postings with the same problem in this forum. However, in my case, the error messages were caused by the database being indexed and apparently taking up too many resources. Other postings have cited a database being compacted, or views updated and the database is usually large. You may need patience, but your problem may be solved by a more robust server. Also, this problem did not appear previous to 6.5.4. I wonder if it’s a regression.
