When I forward a file to a recipient in my address book, and they receives the message, the attached file’s name will be changed from the original file name to ATTGFRBX or similar. If I the recipient save the attachment and then rename it back to the original file name, then they are able to open the attachment. This scenario only happens if the recipient is in my address book and also in the names.nsf on the domino server but my address book entry does not have an email address in it, but the one in names.nsf does. If I put a email address in for that recipient in my address book, then there is no issue. I tried reducing the file name to just a one character file name and still have the same issue.
Subject: so the difference is in how the server is mangling the email for sending on the internet…
…versus how your client does it, and you should start by talking to your server administrator.
