Category Templates
Some of our categories have specific templates when creating content, to ensure better quality input.
One of the benefits of Discourse is that we can create templates for topics on a per-category basis. The most obvious place you’ll come across this is in the forums.
When questions are posed, the problem may be unusual behavior or a query about how to achieve a specific technical outcome. But the cause or solution may vary depending on version or platform.
So we’ve tried to create templates that prompt users to enter that information. This will ensure better quality and a quicker / more accurate response from our community.
Additional information
Don’t forget that you can also paste images or enter code to help clarify your problem.
Always ensure personal or company information is masked before pasting in the images!
Presentations
The Presentations category is another category that has a template.
In this case, we’re prompting to ensure authors have the correct rights to share the presentation and that code snippets in the presentation can be re-used. The prompts use Markdown checkboxes, which can be completed by adding an “x” inside the square brackets or by clicking when the topic post has been saved.
