Tcpip status box empty?

I have a notes client that does not connect to the home server. I have replaced the notes.ini, desktop, bookmarks, cache, names.nsf rebuilt the client and all that standard stuff. When I go to file->prefernces->user prefernces->ports. Select the TCPI port click on show status. It is empty. Yet on my own desktop this works OK.

Notes installed on c:\lotus\notes\ directory. As are notes.ini and names.nsf. I can ping the mail server fromthe desktop in trouble but Notes will not connect to it.

Cleared out the temp internet folder, and ensured no boxes are selected in the LAN connection settings of the Internet Explorer6 options and as if by magic, replication started!!! Don’t know why this would have any influence on Notes connection to server.
