How can I synchronize a DOMINO password from active directory, in order to have the new password applied to the user id and the internet password.

Read the Admin Help files on using Active Sync.
Are you using the Active Directory Sync program? If so, you can set the fields, therefore you can double up the NT password to be the Notes Password + Internet Address Password.
This is all well and good for new users, not sure about current users.

I have just gone through this process and here’s what I have found so far…
You can push the password to the HTTPPassword by creating a MAPPING in the AD domino configuration. HTTPPassword doesn’t seem to appear in the drop down list but you can type a field name yourself.
All this works fine when creating a new user, or by using the migration tools in domino admin.
The issue I have at the moment is that if you “reset” the password in AD it doesn’t fire off ADSYNC. If you then use the “sync AD and domino” option, it still doesn’t replace the password in the domino HTTPPassword.
My guess here is that the password sync only works for new users. Once the notes id has the id file they can modify the password locally anyway. As far as http password goes, I haven’t found a way yet to modify the password in AD and get it to ripple through to domino.
I would imagine that users updating their passwords also suffers the same issue.

It sounds like what you are expecting is for ADsync to read the users current Windows password out of AD and then push that to Domino. That isn’t going to happen. That is why ADSync has the ‘common password’ to reset both to a password. ADSync is simply monitoring changes that happen in MMC.
If you want Notes ID’s to sync you have to use Notes Single Logon. If you want Dommino HTTP Password to sync you need to set that up in Domino.
