There’s so much in Discourse, it’s often hard to keep up. That’s why we read the release notes…and we found out about a core Calendar & Events plugin.
So events have been switched to use that instead. All events have been updated.
Only certain groups have access to create events, in the Events category. If you need access, please post in Site Feedback.
For those who can create Events:
- When creating a Post, don’t click the calendar icon. Instead click the cog icon and click “Create Event”. Ensure your cursor is in the correct spot. The event code will be inserted where your cursor is.
- Fill in the details, setting the timezone accordingly.
- Insert a registration URL, if appropriate.
- Ensure the correct tag is added to the post. The tag will change the event colour on the calendar:
- “corporate”, for HCL webinars etc
- “openntf” for OpenNTF-run events
- “user-group” for User Group events
All users should be able to add a calendar entry to a post.
