SuSE 8.2 - Domino 6.5.4 - PHP - can work!

This is the story of my (now) working php scripts in Domino as CGI.

  1. Under SuSE, install PHP using Yast

mod_php4 4.3.1

mod_php4-core 4.3.1

mod_php4-devel 4.3.1

phplib 7.2d

it might ask for other packages

the executable will be “/usr/bin/php”

your scripts will go in “/local/notesdata/domino/html/myscript.php”

To test in a console do:

php /local/notesdata/domino/html/myscript.php

It should return html code…

  1. APACHE is NOT necessary

  2. With Domino Administrator

Open your server,

Select your Server Document and create a “Web URL mapping/redirection”

( or a Internet Site Rule)

Specify the following:

  • “URL → Directory”

  • incoming: /php-bin

  • Target: /usr/bin

  • Access: Execute

Save and close

Restart HTTP (tell http restart)

  1. BEFORE TESTING check your /etc/php.ini

leave doc_root =

blank, no ; no “”

cgi.force_redirect = 0

Must be ZERO 0

  1. That’s it.

How to execute a php script?

Your script mus be in the

/local/notesdata/domino/html/ directory

in your browser type the URL as:

http://my.domino.webserver/php-bin/php/myscript.php

Now, there is a problem “Content-Type”

This works only under MS-InternetExplorer, since it ignores the “type text/plain” and displays the text as html…

-My Sample php------

Hello World!!

Under Mozilla/Firefox, it shows only text…

My Sample php

Hello World!

To correct this situation

Tomasz has a workaround: http://www-10.lotus.com/ldd/nd6forum.nsf/55c38d716d632d9b8525689b005ba1c0/06d63254e0c69a2c85256f70003ddf11?OpenDocument&Highlight=0,content-type

But this only works for Internet Sites…

If anyone knows hot to fix for non-InternetSites, I’ll be very thankful!

Hope this helps !
