I am running what is suppose to be an Anonymous Survey Tool, but it has just been picked up that when you start the survey, and someone else starts at the same time you get the message:
“The document is currently being edited by David Schlick/UK/IBM”
Is there a way of supressing this message, or at a minimum, hiding the username ?

Yeah – turn off document locking.
It sounds like your survey is a single document, and to take the survey a user has to edit that document. This seems odd to me. Why is your survey not a form, and to take the survey the user composes a document using the form? Or if for some reason it has to be a document, why do you not create an in-memory copy of the document for the user to edit, instead of having all users trying to edit the same document at the same time?
