We have common mail files that are accessed with individual personal ids so when mail is sent from within these common mail files, the “Sent on behalf of” is in the header. Without creating ids for these common mail files, is there any way to suppress this?

I do not know of any parameter, but you might consider updating the mail-template.
It can be done (I did it), but sometimes it is tricky and you need to do your changes again when there is a new version introduced.
