Substitude or Replace domain name in the URL

Hi all,

we are TroubleShooting on a two domain szenario.

There are several domino 7.02 servers in “domain.com”.

Now the domain should change to “newdomain.com”

Both domains are active in the DNS

The host “server1.domain.com” and “server1.newdomain.com” point to the same server1.

SSO and redirect to https is enabled to “newdomain.com”

We are using Internet Sites-configuration.

Now we want that URL-links like “server1.domain.com/database.nsf” which include the old domain continues to work.

This works only when SSO is not enabled. Otherwise the login page does not go away; no authentication.

We tried to work with separate Internet sites, redirections, substitutions (which only works on the parametrs of an url).

But we did not find a solution to work with two domains on the same server with sso to the same content.

An initial Redirect from all “server1.domain.com/*” to a speific page on the new domain works; but this is not enough.

There must be something like an permanent URL-Replace in the browser

URL:

“server1.domain.com/dirx/databases2.nsf/doc_x” →

should switch/replace on every click to

“Parked at Loopia” →

Does someone know a solution?

Thanks

Try this:

(example assumes you are using Internet site documents)

Have 2 Internet site documents:

www.domain.com

www.newdomain.com

Open the www.domain.com site document and add a URL redirection.

Incoming URL pattern: /*

Redirect to this URL: http://www.newdomain.com

Save & Close

Now TELL HTTP REFRESH at the server console and see what happens!

great, thanks.

With a ‘/*’ at the end of the redirect URL it works.

Unfortunately does it not work when https is used.

Your problem is likely to be that SSO only works across servers where the server’s DNS domain in the FQDN are the same. If your servers have different DNS domain names (as seems likely) then multi-server SSO will not work from one to the other.

If your newdomain.com server is set to redirect all to https you could try the redirection that I suggested (i.e. using http) and see if the server then changes the protocol to https afterwards.
