Problem/Query:

I have a number of customers who have reported being unable to edit the subject line of an email which they wish to forward to another person. It is not even possible to place the cursor in the subject line. The Email has Fwd: automatically prefixed to the subject but no change is possible.
Is this a known problem? Is there any solution?

Hi Andrew,

I did a quick test and can still edit the subject line when forwarding an email. I am using the standard 14.5 mail template. Can you confirm the exact mail template version used by these users? Are they using a custom template? If so, I suggest that you perform a replace design using the HCL Notes/Domino standard mail template and test. Thank you!

Sounds like the sender(s) are utilizing the following feature - To prevent copying in HCL Notes, use the built-in “Prevent copying” delivery option for individual emails (disabling copy, print, forward) or customize the ‘Message’ form in Domino Designer to set the $KeepPrivate field to “1”, which restricts copying, printing, and forwarding, though sophisticated users can still bypass it with screenshots or other methods

I have a similar issue in notes 12 fp5 (32bit) when creating a mail using stationary. The heading text subject is there, but the subject line is not visible for editing.

The Email can be forwarded, it is just not possible to edit the subject line

The users have the standard HCL Notes 12.5 template.
