Strange error when trying to add people to groups

I have MGR access to update the PAB with groups. I go to a group to add new members. I add the members. I click Save and Close…and I get this:

“A user name already exists by this name. Group names are not allowed to match exactly a User name. Please choose a different group name.”

I have no other groups names that are identical to this, nor do I have mail in dbase that matches this name.

I am listed in the Administrator tab as an Owner and an Administrator but not under my name. The word LocalDomainAdmins is listed but I’m in that group. If I simply take that out and put NotesAdmin in there, which I’m also in…I get the same error. ANY change to this group gives me that error.

Thoughts?

Do you get the error even if you don’t add new members? Just by trying to save and close?

Maybe check out one of the hidden views that shows People, Groups and Resources - I think $PeopleGroupsFlat shows them all - and check for a duplicate name.

Or perhaps you’ve got an orphaned Replication Save conflict. You could try creating a private All document view which doesn’t show response documents in a hierarchy.
