Strange cursor behavior in new memo 'To: ' field

I was wondering if someone has any idea about this. I could call the help desk, but they’ll probably think I’m nuts.

When I’m composing a new memo in Lotus Notes, for every letter I type in the ‘To:’ field, the cursor goes forward, then backward, then forward again (and very slowly, I might add).

This drives me crazy when I have to type in multiple names.

Anyone have any ideas ?

Thanks in advance…

A few quick checks. Do you have Recipient type-ahead ticked in your location document. Try unticking that, and see if the problem goes away. IF it does, then you may have some external directories listed and it’s slow getting there. Try going back to just the default Domain NAB.

Hi Tom,

Did you ever find a solution for this problem ? We noticed it first in version 6.5.3, seemed to be solved in 6.5.4, but in 6.5.6 the problem is their again …

On top of the forward/backward behavior, the Notes client crashes when people enter more then 3 addresses in any of the fields.

Kind regards,

Stefaan

Humm, interesting… I disabled ‘Recipient Name Type-Ahead’, but it’s still doing the same thing, but at a much faster pace.

I probably should have mentioned that I’m on a Cable/VPN connection. Would that have something to do with it ?

The subject/body fields are fine. It doesn’t happen on those.

Try switching off all the lookup options in your location document, and see what’s happening. Certainly, if you’re on a slow connection AND you have defined your server remote, that would account for the behaviour.

The other fields won’t do this, because they have no look-up features.
