Strange Agent Error

I have an agent which is set to run on a given server at 12 noon every day. It’s set to run on all documents in the database and the run on what server is set to -Any Server-

The agent gets all documents in a view and works through them checking for certain conditions. If the documents meets those conditions, the agent sends an email based on the information found. It does this for every document in the database.

Originally I was informed that the users who were expecting emails were not getting any. I tried looking at the log (right clicking on the agent in designer and selecting Log) and I was informed it had never run. I made a few changes and set it up to run the next day. I’m now getting the following error in the Domino console:

10/10/2006 12:01:02 AMgr: Agent (‘NewCheck Matter Monitors’ in ‘folder/db.nsf’) error message: Notes error: You do not have a mail file/server specified. Use File Mobile Edit Current Location… to set them.

Never seen this error before. There are other agents running on this server which do similar jobs and have no problems.

The config document allows me to run agents (it’s signed by me) and the agent itself has the correct security.

Any pointers would be great

Thanks

hmm - in your name and address book, you should check the locations view - for the location specifed the third or fourth tab should be the mail settings

I’ve seen this one before and I think there is an item in the support database referring to it. It is something to do with the fact that in order to send the mail successfully there are various server settings that should be checked.

Just did a quick search and this is the technote reference:

1193074

Search the support DB for that and you will see what I found last time.

CAn’t remember exactly but hope that this points you in the right direction.

After reading the support note, it looks like the MAILSERVER entry is missing from the notes.ini

I shall shut it down tomorrow morning and put this in the notes.ini

Thanks for pointing me in the right direction
