SSL problems after upgrading to firefox31

after upgrading web browser to firefox31many customers are complaining that they are no longer able to access their domino webserver. if using a self signed or domino based ssl certificate authority

Downgrading to earlier Firefox version, or using a different web browser seems to allow connections just fine.

error received:

Secure Connection Failed
an error occurred during a connection to
Issuer certificate is invalid
(Error code: sec_error_ca_cert_invalid)

This appear to be due to change in how the browser checks ssl certificates

by following the steps on the Mozilla site you can restore the older ssl libraries for firefox
and allow https connections to your server
https://wiki.mozilla.org/SecurityEngineering/Certificate_Verification

in the browser access firefox advance settings via the about:config

and toggle to false the security.use_mozillapkix_verification
