Sidetracked by a problem that I’d seen before but it was reported to me today bu a user so I did a little more research and found that I can duplicate it.
Spell checker not always working in emails. Using Legacy spell check - ‘SPELL_FORCE_LEGACY=1’ in notes.ini.
Long story short, found that the issue documented here → ‘If signature is preceded by a blank line, spell check may not find misspelled words above the signature’ http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21404238 http://www-01.ibm.com/support/docview.wss?uid=swg21404238 and reportedly resolved in 8.5.2 still exists in 8.5.3 and Notes 9.0.
