Spell check finds 02/02/2007 but no other dates are considered mispelled

Does anyone know (and can confirm) why the notes spell checker thinks 02/02/2007 is a mispelled word? It does not fail on any other date.

Try this:

Create a new mail memo, type the date, 02/02/2007 in your body field, run spell checker, it finds 02/02 as a mispelled word. Now change the date to any other date (i.e. 02/03/2007) and it does not consider it to be mispelled.

Is this a bug in the spell checker and does anyone else see this same behavior? (running 7.0.1)

I think it’s flagging it because the month and the date are the same - I tried some tests and it seemed any time the month and the day where the same it flags it. My guess it’s part of the logic that catches the same word repeated twice in a row.

Thanks Steve and Dan for confirming - ah yes, it does do this when the day and month are the same - good point, it probably thinks the words are repeated.

Thanks for your input and testing this out. At least now I know my users will have this behavior only 12 days out the year.

Thanks again.

It seems to find any dates with day and month the same, ie 03/03/2007 also prompts a misspelling for 03/03.

Don’t know why though
