Specific document shall not be saved

I have one form the user only use for input and verification purposes. This form has 6 steps the user must access one by one and some of these steps are calculating other tasks or accessing other databases (DB2).

Step number 6 is creating another document based on one of 5 different tamplates/forms and export data from the first form into that.

The new document is getting focus for the user to do some manual work before printing and saving that document.

When this last document is saved the first document still is active in the client and I wonder:

  1. Is it possible to autmatically close that document without saving it? Preferably at the same time all export has been done to the “new” document.

or

  1. How can I force the first document to be closed after printing the last one without any saving or question to the user?

Hello,

Include and set SaveOptions to “0” and call this in the end when you have exported the document and just before closing the parent document.

Are you asking how to close stacked windows as a result of the applications architecture and dependency ont hose open windows, once the windows are no longer needed?

Or are you asking how to prgramatically prevent the first opened document in the sequence from being accidentally resaved?

As the other poster said, set save options to zero on the forms you dont want resaved, but if you use the same forms for data entry you will have to condition that to set to zero only when opened during your sequence but otherwise to allow to save…or set save to zero only if it is not a new document… if you still need to open and resave these master documents that start the sequence for other things, just outright disabling the ability to save is not going to work for you.

If you just want to close out all the windows that were opened during your sequence, I belive but not completely certain…that you just repeat the

@Command([FileCloseWindow]);

@Command([FileCloseWindow]);

as many times as there are windows, but be careful because too many will of course kick them out of notes entirely.

Some additional info.

The user opens one form and do all the input and connection to other DB’s. Some of the logic in the form will fill values into fields on this form (lets say Form A)

The last action the user do is to click on an action that create another form. This form is dynamically picked from a pool of possible forms (certificate templates). This form will show up as another “window” (lets say Form B)

Form B is the one to be printed and saved.

I want to close Form A as a part of the “saving process” of Form B.

Form A shall never be saved and I don’t want the user to have the possibility to do that, neither to be asked if he wants to do that.
