Special database Object cannot be located

I wonder if anyone here has seen this problem – Special database object cannot be located.

What does that mean?

This user SKIRA complained that the mails not appear in the view for the mailbox until he do a SHIFT+F9 to refresh. I run fixup and compact as part of the process to resolve the ptoblem.

Any suggestion on what else that I can do?

Thanks

in designer check to see if there is a default view/folder defined (blue arrow in the far left hand column ). In my mail file it’s the ($inbox) folder.

if it’s not defined as the default open the folder and check it on the “i” tab of the folder/view.

thanks

Thanks for the reply.

I run an nfix a couple of hours later, there is no such problem any longer – Weird.

  • Not weird … Notes. But Barry is correct. If you don’t want to see this in the future his solution should prevent it.- My experience is thens to happen the first time a database is opened. For instance, if a db doesn’t have a default View defined and I copy it, this will appear the first time I open it. After that it doesn’t usually crop up. Since fixup has to open the db to run, it gets the “error”, but the next time it does not. This matches my observations, such as they are.

  • Hope this helps…
