Spam and mail forwarding

Sigh. I hate spammers.

We receive a lot of spam attacks. No problem, our Domino 7.0.2 server is set up according to the reccomendations from Chris Linfoot. But then we want to forward all emails to one user (zzz) to another Internet domain (xxx.com.au), and it doesn’t work…

05/11/2006 11:33:19 PM Router: Message 0044F7DE forwarded to zzz@xxx.com.au

05/11/2006 11:33:19 PM Router: Message 0044F7FC not routed to recipient zzz@xxx.com.au for policy reasons

05/11/2006 11:33:19 PM Router: Policy Reason: Router: yyyy@gmail.com is restricted from sending mail through server MELBOURNE/BLAH

Well, yes, we don’t relay. But we do want to if the destination is xxx.com.au (they can cop all the spam addressed to Mr. zzz, it’s not our problem, it’s SEP*)

I was hoping that “Configuration Settings - Router/SMTP - Restrictions and Controls - Inbound Controls - Allow messages to be sent only to the following external internet domains: xxx.com.au” would have worked, but it doesn’t.

HELP? It’s 11:30 at night, and i;m tired.

*Somebody Else’s Problem

Subject: Solved!

Yes, the “Allow messages to be sent only to the following external internet domains” does override the setting underneath (“Deny messages to be sent to the following external internet domains”) and they can relay / forward to those domains, even when the “Deny…to…” field is set to * IF and ONLY IF in Outbound controls “Allow messages only from the following Internet addresses to be sent to the Internet:” doesn’t have values…

So it would appear that the “Allow…to…” field in Inbound Controls is overridden by the “Allow…from…” settings in Outbound Controls.
