Some TELL HTTP Commands Not Working

Some TELL HTTP commands do NOT work in a scratch installed Domino Server 8.5. Commands that don’t work:

TELL HTTP SHOW USERS

TELL HTTP SHOW SECURITY

These commands don’t work from the admin GUI, remote console, or directly on the server. All others seem to be OK.

Anyone else have this problem or know why they’re not working?

Thanks

Subject: Same here on some servers

I have the same symptoms as you on one server running 64-bit Domino on 64-bit Win 2003SP2. This broke when I migrated to a fresh box. Another server running 64-bit Domino on 64-bit Win 2003SP2 is fine.I don’t see it as an access problem because I’m sitting at the Windows box typing in the server console.

Both boxes use Internet Site docs. Both use Domlog.nsf. The working box has Session auth disabled. The broken box uses Multi-server SSO.

Subject: Are sessions being logged?

  1. If you have Web Logging enabled (ServerDoc->Internet Protocols->HTTP->Enable Logging To)? If so, check either the ‘domlog.nsf’ or the Web Log files & see if any sessions are being recorded.

Subject: DOMLOG Is Enabled

The DOMLOG is enabled and HTTP user sessions are being recorded.

Subject: Other than log.nsf…

After executing the “TELL HTTP” commands that don’t seem to produce output, check the log.nsf and/or console.log/dcntrlr.log file to see if any output shows up there. Regardless, I strongly recommend you engage IBM Lotus Software Support on this one.

Subject: What are your Administrator Rights for that Server?

Maybe you don’t have high enough access?

Subject: Administrative Rights

We have our admin group in the Full Access Admin field, the Admin field and the Full Remote Console Administrators field.

Still can’t get a response to those two commands.

Subject: Same here !

I experience the same thing.

TELL HTTP SHOW USERS does not produce output.

Running Dom 8.5 win32 on Win XP

Subject: Fixed in 8.5.1

Tracked as SPR KGIS7RDSDS. Only occurs for internet site style configuration. If a particular internet web site is marked as the default site, it will respond with only that site’s information.

You can request a hotfix for 8.5, just open a PMR.

Subject: Cannot reproduce

I have a simple base install and I am getting output from tell http show users and tell http show security

02/06/2009 12:14:33 PM Secure server not started Waiting for HTTPS request

tell http show users

02/06/2009 12:15:59 PM There are no current HTTP user sessions

02/06/2009 12:15:59 PM User Name IP Address Expires

Subject: Internet Site Documents Seem To Be The Culprit

This morning, I switched two servers over to using Internet Site Documents. Both had been upgraded to 8.5 over two weeks ago and did NOT display the HTTP command problem. UNTIL I switched them over to use the Internet Sites. We did not have this problem with version 7.0.2 (we went right to 8.5, so I don’t know if the problem started in 8.0).

So, that seems to be the problem. I’m going to call IBM and see what they have to say.
