Some attachment of archived mail can't be opened

Recently we got the problem of open the attachments in archived mail which produce the error of “invalid or nonexistent doucment: could not save file xxx to c:\xxx\temp.…”.

Previously our archive DB were saved in user’s local hard disk and archive setting was setup on Notes client side. From last week, we set up the archive policy to archive the mail on same mail server directly by running “compact -c -i -a” program at 4:00am everyday.

However, we found a part of users who having many archived mails failed to open some attachments in archived DB. Not all archived mail’s attachemnt can’t be open. Even in one mail which have several attachments, several attachments can’t be opened and others can which having different size and file extension.

Both server and Notes client are 8.5.1 version and mailbox & archive DB are v8.5.1 mail template too.

I tried to seach the fix with spr ADEE84REF5 but can’t get the resource with our IBM product download ID. My Australia teammate was communicating with local IBM support for getting it but I wanna to get it ASAP, much better in this weekend for further test.

Is it possible to release the fix?

I have logged a PMR with IBM requesting the fix but it doesnt seem available yet. I would suggest doing the same.

Subject: Please don’t use that hotfix.

If you need this hotfix please contact support and open a PMR.

It may work and resolve your issue. However without support tracking who is using it, in the event we need to recall a hot fix we would not be able to warn you.

Subject: Also getting this in 8.5.2

Not exactly the same circumstances but I have a user who’s getting the same error message with her attachments. She had 4 attachments and can only open the last one.

She was away on vacation and gave access to her inbox to another person. This person open the email and opened the attachments no problem. When user came back from vacation the problem started. Is there a fix for this in 8.5.2 as well?

We checked around 30 users so far and 11 users having this issue.

The case is mostly occurred in the mail which having several attachments(more than two) and last listed attachment can always be opened too.
