Solution STD Client 8.5.1 cannot be opened

Hello Domino Admins,

I had the problem on some clients to start the standard Client (notes.exe / notes2.exe) (8.5.1) after a upgrade from 8.5

Reason:

rcplauncher.log


CWPNL0083E begin: Error removing old directory

Data\workspace.configbak\org.eclipse.osgi\bundles\694\1.cp\com\ibm\collaboration\realtime\buddylist\sametime\SametimeBuddyListProvider$AddStorageServiceListenerJob.class - Failed with error 3: Das System kann den angegebenen Pfad nicht finden.


The path name is too long! When I remove manually this file or folder the standard client work.

But I don’t know if this file is important.

Maybe you know this, do you?

Subject: Deleting the file

You can delete the file since it is in the config backup dir. We will investigate the issue with not being able to delete it automatically and the error.

Subject: Question about the .configbak Folder

Do you know if it’s possible to remove the .configbak folder before the first notes start has been done after the upgrade?

May Notes need it after the upgrade?!

When the folder .configbak will be created? When notes creat is at the first start after the upgrade I have a problem to remove them via the software deployment for example.
