KW soft deletions document locking manager access
[Reposted with revised text]
Hello,
I have a shared database under development and was intending to use document locking (for cluster compatibility) and soft deletions, a feature much appreciated (and therefore much demanded) by users. All was fine until I started testing with users who have author access. These are unable to delete documents (despite having the required ACL settings.) Nothing happens when they press Delete (not even an error.) I stress that deletion and restoration work fine with Manager access. They also work fine with author access, if I disallow document locking.
I ran the code through debugger using Manager and Author access, the execution is identical. Simply, when Manager gets to “source.documents.removeall(false)” the documents are deleted, but they are not, with Author access (or any level except Manager.)
Do I have to choose between allowing document locking and using soft deletions ? Maybe I’ve forgotten something ?
Anyone else come across this one ? I’ve found no reference, despite quite a lot of searching. I would be very interested in hearing any experience of implementing document locking with soft deletions in shared databases…
Thanks
John
